  Despite it being run down now from what it used to be like 30 or 40 years ago, and the fact that they have ruined the once lovely beach by pumping thousands of tons of sharp sand onto it in the name of stopping coastal erosion, which of course it wont, Mablethorpe is by far, in my opinion, the best resort on the East Coast.
  The beach to the North is still good and the sand train is great value at £2 for a round trip. Most people make you feel welcome and the locals do all they can to promote the town.
  Things have improved in the last few years but the Council need to put a bit more effort in if they want it to thrive again.
